“I Like Good Machinery” is a humorous audio cut-up of the 1969 film Herbie The Love Bug. In cutting and rearranging, the subtext of this film is revealed — the relationship between men and machines… and… women and men and machines… which leaves us in a not-so-distant reality… somewhere between J.G. Ballard’s Crash and 1960’s Disney.
Kristen’s audio art is informed by aspects of acoustic ecology, radio art, sound collage and phonography.
