The piece takes Claude Lelouch’s short film C’était un Rendez-vous from 1975 as its starting point. The film is a manic drive at dawn through the streets of Paris at break-neck speed from the Boulevard Périphérique to the Basilique Sacré-Coeur, in under 9 minutes. scènes, rendez-vous consists of field recordings made whilst walking the route, which are interspersed with acousmatic episodes derived from the field recordings.
Pete Stollery is a composer and teacher who exists in the north-east of Scotland.
