I’ve been around VIVO since spring 2005 when I was still doing my BA in CMNS @ SFU. I volunteered mainly for evening events on and off for video bucks and just because i loved hanging out with cool media arts people. I did a tech internship @ VIVO last spring and became a tech wiz (hehe, not really, i wish!). But I learned quite a bit in order to be confident to do my own videos. I’m doing a doc called “Russian Girls” with Video In equipment + I`ll be editing it at VIVO (i need more video bucks!). It’s this mix of exposé on stereotypes about Russian girls and ethnography of a generation of young girls who are really more Canadian than they think they are. In addition to hanging out at VIVO I do some photography (mostly silly pictures), graphic design (putting those silly pictures together), and some visual art. Yea, I also work but that`s boring and nobody needs to know about it.
