Gabriela Golder, Survival’s Logic | 2008 | 5min | DV | Argentina

The execution of a failed project. A multitude of people rush to receive food. A young man is brutally repressed. This video is made up of three scenes that look at the failure of any reconstruction project.

Born in Buenos Aires, Gabriela Golder is an artist and independent curator. She was artist in residence at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada; the CICV, France; the Schloss Balmoral, Germany and the Wexner Center for the Arts, United States. She has received several awards for her work: 1st prize at Festival Videoformes, France; the Media Art Award from ZKM, Germany; and 1st prize at Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales, Argentina. She is the co-director of Continente (www.continentevideo.com.ar) and teaches Video and New Technologies in universities in Argentina and abroad, including the Visual and Media Arts School of UQAM [Montreal] as a guest professor in 2007-08.
